Dorothy Dubrule joined the CS&S team in July 2022 as an operations manager with a focus on people. Her priority is to ensure that all CS&S employees and community members have the support they need to navigate benefits, hiring, onboarding, management and offboarding strategies, and to draft policies that center workers' rights. Advocacy for care, accountability and transparency are at the core of all facets of her work as she shapes a Human Resources department for CS&S that prioritizes social justice. She brings with her more than five years of operations leadership as the former Executive Director of Los Angeles live arts nonprofit, Pieter Performance Space. Dorothy has also served the operations and production needs of artist Wu Tsang since 2016, and has been a board member of GREX: the West Coast Affiliate of the AK Rice Center for the Study of Social Systems since 2018. Outside of her administrative work with artists and organizations, Dorothy is a trained birth doula and dances, choreographs and writes about performance. Her book about the labor of performance in visual arts spaces, Being Work, is available via Insert Press.
