CS&S Announces Leadership Transition

CS&S announced today that Dr. Danielle Robinson will step down as Executive Director of the organization, after serving the organization since 2017.

“The CS&S Board of Directors and I are deeply grateful to Danielle for her exceptional leadership over the past nine years,” said CS&S Board Member and Finance Committee Chairman Jochai Ben-Avie. “Under her guidance, CS&S has grown into a leading fiscal sponsor, become an institutional home for more than a dozen impactful projects, and built an organization that fiscally sponsored projects and funders alike can rely on. CS&S would not be what it is today without her, and she leaves the organization well-positioned for its next chapter.”

"It has been one of the great privileges of my career to work alongside the fiscally sponsored projects, partners, and colleagues that make CS&S what it is," said Robinson. "Watching so many projects grow from an idea into a fully realized, impactful organization and knowing our team played a supporting role in that is something I will carry with me always. I'm proud of the systems and culture we've built, and I have full confidence in the team's ability to continue delivering exceptional service."

Shannon Dosemagen, CS&S's Board Chair, will serve as Interim Executive Director during the transition period. Dosemagen brings 15 years of experience as an Executive Director and has served on the CS&S Board for the past six years, providing her with deep familiarity of the organization’s operations, mission, and community. She also brings significant experience in organizational governance through her board service across many organizations.

Dosemagen and Robinson will work in partnership through June 30th, ensuring continuity and a smooth transfer of leadership responsibilities. CS&S's Board of Directors will oversee the transition, and Dr. Kari Jordan will lead the Transition Committee in the search process for the organization's next Executive Director.

Since starting with the organization in 2017, Robinson has served in the role of Executive Director of CS&S, bringing experience in research and research data stewardship to the role. Under her tenure, CS&S expanded its fiscal sponsorship services, sharpened its operational focus, and implemented new systems that have meaningfully raised the standard of service for fiscally sponsored projects.
