Julia Astegiano studied biology and received a doctorate in biological sciences at the National University of Córdoba. She worked as a researcher in Brazil and France, and after a few years returned to Argentina to join the Multidisciplinary Institute of Plant Biology (UNC-CONICET). Her work investigates topics related to ecology, mainly with the interactions between plants and animals (including humans!). She currently works together with economists and ethnobiologists combining questions and methodologies that foster dialogues between Ecologies and Critical Economies, "society" and "nature", producers, researchers, and extensionists, to contribute to the construction of Agroecologies centered on the reproduction of the web of life.
